F-5-10

F-5-10 Permanent Residency
Bachelor's / Master's Degree or Government-Certified Qualification Holders

1. Overview

F-5-10 grants permanent residency to foreign nationals who hold a bachelor's or master's degree from a recognized institution, or a government-certified qualification, and meet the required points and residency criteria. Unlike some other F-5 categories, F-5-10 does not apply a GNI 5x income multiplier requirement — this requirement has been removed from the current immigration manual.

2. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or a government-certified professional qualification
  • Must have maintained lawful residence in Korea for the required period under a qualifying visa status
  • Must meet the points-based scoring criteria (education, Korean language, income, age, etc.)
  • Must meet living support requirements at the GNI per capita standard
  • Must pass basic competency test (Korean language test or KIIP course completion)
  • No criminal record and no immigration violations

5. Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is there a GNI 5x income requirement for F-5-10?
A. No. The GNI 5x income multiplier requirement has been deleted from the current immigration manual for F-5-10. Applicants only need to meet the standard GNI per capita living support level.
Q. What government-certified qualifications are accepted?
A. Qualifications must be officially certified by a Korean government ministry or equivalent authority. This includes national technical qualifications (기술자격증), professional licenses, and similar certifications. Foreign qualifications may require recognition through the appropriate ministry. Consult with an agent for your specific qualification.
Q. What is the minimum points score required?
A. The points threshold is set by the Ministry of Justice and may be updated periodically. Points are awarded for education level, Korean language proficiency, income, age, and other factors. Vision Admin Office can run a free eligibility assessment for you.
